2021 Annual G.R.E.A.T Event

At this year’s G.R.E.A.T. event, Ashley will be speaking at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, about “Planning For Your Child’s 18th Birthday: Guardianship, Powers of Attorney, and other Special Needs Planning.” The G.R.E.A.T. event is virtual, and registration is a snap.
About the G.R.E.A.T Event
The G.R.E.A.T. Event (Short for Gathering Resources for Excelling Adults in Transition), is annual event sponsored by the Monroe, Randolph, St. Clair County Transition Planning Committee. This year’s event takes place from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on April 13th, April 14th, and April 15th. Over 50 agencies in our area gather to provide information regarding resources available for transitioning high school students and young adults with disabilities. Please participate to learn more about public benefits, housing, employment, vocational training, special needs planning (guardianship, powers of attorney, special needs trusts, and other planning tools), leisure/recreational activities, transportation, assistive technology, and developmental, behavioral, social, and mental health services and supports.

The mission of the Transition Planning Committee (“TPC”) is to work with businesses, community leaders, schools, individuals, families, and advocates to better empower individuals with disabilities and to promote environments that will support their efforts to achieve personal success in all aspects of community living.
